Physiotherapy for Airdrie
Airdrie and Coatbridge run into each other along the A89, and Chapman Physiotherapy & Performance sits just over that line on Cameron Street, in the north of Coatbridge. From Airdrie town centre it is roughly four kilometres by road, which makes it a realistic choice whether you are fitting physio around a lunch break, the school run or the end of a shift.
The physiotherapist is Kieran Chapman, registered with the HCPC. His background takes in MSK physiotherapy, orthopaedic work, neurological physiotherapy and cardiac rehabilitation, so he is as comfortable working with a runner or a footballer as with someone months out from a knee replacement who wants a structured plan, or a person rebuilding strength after a neurological condition. Sessions are one-to-one and run for 45 minutes, and appointments are booked online with live availability, evenings and Saturdays included.

Airdrie
Football, canal paths and long shifts in Airdrie
Matchdays in Airdrie revolve around Airdrieonians at the Excelsior Stadium on Craigneuk Avenue, and the town's running scene is just as committed. Airdrie Harriers cover track and field, road running, cross country and hill running, which means a lot of calves, Achilles tendons and knees under steady load through the year. Airdrie Golf Club, founded in 1877, adds its own share of stiff lower backs and sore elbows.
For gentler exercise, the surviving stretch of the Monkland Canal between Cairnhill and Calderbank gives a flat path south of the town, and the Rawyards woodlands offer walks with views back over Airdrie. Airdrie Leisure Centre on Motherwell Street is the obvious indoor option when the weather turns.
Work matters just as much. Monklands Hospital sits in Whinhall, and hospital roles such as nursing, portering and support work involve long spells on your feet, lifting and awkward reaching. The trade units at Brownsburn Industrial Estate and Osprey Trade Park bring their own physical demands, and neck, back and shoulder problems from that kind of work are just as worth getting looked at as a sports injury.

Whinhall and Coatdyke are the closest parts of Airdrie to the clinic, right on the boundary with Coatbridge. Gartlea and the town centre are a few minutes further along the A89, while Rawyards, Clarkston and Petersburn on the east side are the longest drives, typically around 15 minutes. South of the centre, Cairnhill, Chapelhall and Calderbank feed onto the B802 and the A89, and Glenmavis to the north joins the B803 straight into Coatbridge.
Treatment
What Kieran can help with
Injury assessment
Your first visit is an injury assessment. Kieran takes a history, watches how you move and tests the structures involved, then explains in plain terms what he thinks is behind the problem. If anything suggests you need to be seen elsewhere, he will say so.

Rehabilitation
Rehab is built around what you want to get back to, whether that is ninety minutes on a football pitch or a twelve hour ward shift. Hands-on treatment in the clinic sits alongside a progressive exercise plan, which you follow from your own online account between sessions.

Deep tissue and sports massage
Sports and deep tissue massage target tight, overworked muscles. It suits runners putting in regular miles on the canal path and players carrying knocks from the weekend, and it can be booked as a session in its own right.

Acupuncture, cupping and taping
Acupuncture can be used alongside other treatment to help settle pain, and cupping is available for muscle tension. Taping gives support to a joint or muscle so you can keep training or working while it recovers.

Questions
Coming from Airdrie
How long does it take to get from Airdrie to the clinic?
About 10 minutes by car from the town centre outside rush hour, a little longer from Petersburn or Chapelhall. By train it is one or two stops west from Airdrie to Coatdyke or Coatbridge Sunnyside, then about a kilometre on foot.
I work shifts. Are there appointments outside office hours?
Yes, evening and Saturday appointments are available. The online booking system shows live availability, so you can check the week ahead and pick a slot that works with your rota.
Can physio help with a running injury picked up in training?
Kieran assesses running problems such as shin, knee and Achilles pain and builds a plan to return you to training gradually. Every injury is different, so there is no fixed timescale, but the plan is shaped around your sessions and races.
Is there anything to do before the first appointment?
Just one thing: a short online consultation form. It covers your symptoms and medical history so the 45 minutes can be spent assessing and treating rather than on paperwork. You do not need a GP referral.
How does payment work?
New patients pay a deposit online at the point of booking, and that amount comes off the price of the session. After that, returning patients pay at the appointment, by cash or card.
