A physio for Bellshill, just up the A725

Bellshill and Coatbridge are joined by one of the most direct roads in Lanarkshire. Follow the A725 north through Shawhead and Whifflet and you arrive at Chapman Physiotherapy & Performance, 10 Cameron Street, without ever touching a motorway. For anyone in Mossend, Orbiston or the town centre with a sore back, a twisted knee or a shoulder that has stopped cooperating, that makes the clinic a realistic option for regular sessions rather than a one-off trip.

Kieran Chapman is the HCPC registered physiotherapist behind the clinic. His experience takes in MSK physiotherapy, orthopaedics, neurological physiotherapy and cardiac rehab, and he treats every patient personally in a 45 minute, one-to-one appointment. You can book online with live availability, including evening and Saturday appointments, and there is no need for a GP referral. New patients pay a deposit to secure the slot, which comes off the price, and complete a short online consultation form before the first visit.

Bellshill

A football town with a pool, a golf course and a country park next door

Few towns of its size have produced as many footballers as Bellshill. Sir Matt Busby was born in Orbiston, and a statue of Billy McNeill has stood at Bellshill Cross since 2022. The game is still everywhere here, from Bellshill Athletic at Rockburn Park in the West of Scotland League to the weekend kickabouts on local pitches, and with it come the classic football injuries: groin strains, hamstring tears, ankle sprains and knee problems after a bad tackle or an awkward turn.

The Sir Matt Busby Sports Complex has a 25 metre pool, a gym, a dance studio and a sports hall, and it is home to Bellshill Sharks swimming club, so shoulder and neck complaints from swimming or weight training are just as relevant. Bellshill Golf Club, founded in 1905, overlooks Strathclyde Country Park, and the Greenlink cycle path runs through the course and Orbiston towards Forgewood, giving walkers and cyclists a traffic free route straight from town.

Away from sport, many people work in the Bellshill and Righead industrial estates either side of the A725 or at Eurocentral near Mossend. Warehousing, logistics and manufacturing jobs often mean lifting, driving and long shifts on hard floors, which can take a toll on backs, knees and feet over time.

The clinic is easy to reach from Orbiston on the south side of the town near Strathclyde Park, Mossend and Hattonrigg, Belziehill by its A725 junction, and the older parts of town around Sykehead and Bellshill Cross. Wherever you start, the A725 north is the common thread, carrying you past the industrial estates and Shawhead into Whifflet and on to the north of Coatbridge.

Questions

Coming from Bellshill

Is there a direct bus from Bellshill to Coatbridge?

Yes. The First 201 runs from Bellshill via Shawhead and Whifflet into Coatbridge town centre, around every 20 minutes during the day. Evening buses are less frequent, so check times first.

Is it worth waiting for a five-a-side groin strain to settle on its own?

Many minor strains do improve, but a physio assessment can tell you how significant it is and what you can safely keep doing. Kieran can then guide a gradual return to running and kicking.

Is it possible to book physio around shift work?

The online diary shows live availability, including evening and Saturday appointments, so you can pick a time that fits your rota.

How does payment work?

New patients pay a deposit when booking online, and it is taken off the session price. Returning patients pay at the appointment by cash or card.

What is worth bringing to a first appointment?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring any relevant letters or scan reports if you have them. Your consultation form will already be completed online.
