Physiotherapy for Garrowhill residents
Garrowhill is a quiet, mostly residential corner of Glasgow's east end, yet it is very well placed for Coatbridge. Hop on at Garrowhill station or drive out along the A89 and you can be at Chapman Physiotherapy & Performance on Cameron Street in around a quarter of an hour.
The clinic is led by Kieran Chapman, an HCPC registered physiotherapist whose experience covers MSK problems, orthopaedics, neurological conditions and cardiac rehab. Whether the issue is a tennis elbow, a hip that aches after a walk round the park or the long road back after a joint replacement, appointments are 45 minutes, one-to-one and focused entirely on you.
Booking takes a couple of minutes online. You can see live availability, pick an evening or a Saturday if weekdays are busy, and skip the GP referral altogether.

Garrowhill
Tennis courts, park paths and the daily commute
Garrowhill Park had a major upgrade in 2022 when new free public tennis courts opened, giving the neighbourhood an easy way to get playing again. Racket sports are brilliant exercise, but the repetitive swing, sharp changes of direction and stop start footwork can irritate the elbow, shoulder, calf and Achilles, particularly for anyone coming back to the game after a long break.
Garrowhill grew up in the mid-1930s as a residential area next to what was then the village of Baillieston, and with Glasgow Queen Street around 12 minutes away by train it remains an easy place to commute from. Hours in an office chair and on a train seat can leave the neck, upper back and hips stiff by Friday. Closer to home, Active Glasgow East also serves Garrowhill, with pitches, a sports hall and a bowling green for those who want to stay active without leaving the east end.

- Swinton
- Baillieston
Garrowhill shares the Baillieston ward of Glasgow City Council with Barrachnie, Springhill and Swinton, and this page is meant for all of them. If you live nearer Easterhouse or Shettleston along the railway, the same North Clyde line trains will carry you out to Coatbridge Sunnyside, while drivers from any of these streets can reach the A89 within a few minutes and follow it east to Coatbridge.
Treatment
What Kieran can help with
Injury assessment
At the first appointment Kieran takes a detailed history, then looks at strength, range of movement and the positions or activities that bring the pain on, such as a forehand on the Garrowhill courts or a long day sitting. You leave knowing what he has found and what the plan is.

Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation blends hands-on treatment with an exercise programme that builds week by week. Your exercises are kept in your own online account, so you can follow them at home or in the park and see what comes next.

Deep tissue and sports massage
Deep tissue massage works into areas of persistent tension, such as the upper back of someone who sits all day, while sports massage is geared towards active people managing their training load. Sessions are tailored to what the assessment shows.

Acupuncture, cupping and taping
Taping can offer support for a sore wrist, elbow or ankle when you get back on court. Acupuncture and cupping are also offered as part of treatment where appropriate, and Kieran explains how each one works before using it.

Questions
Coming from Garrowhill
Can you get the train from Garrowhill to the clinic?
Yes. Garrowhill to Coatbridge Sunnyside is three stops on the North Clyde line with no change needed, and the clinic is about a kilometre's walk from Sunnyside. Check ScotRail for live times before you travel.
Can tennis elbow be treated with physiotherapy?
Elbow pain from racket sports is one of the problems a physiotherapist can assess. Treatment might include hands-on work, taping and a graded strengthening plan, but what is right for you depends on what Kieran finds when he examines you.
Are there appointments after work?
Yes, evening appointments are available, and there are Saturday sessions too. That helps if you commute into Glasgow during the week and can only get out to Coatbridge later in the day.
What happens after booking online?
New patients pay a deposit, which comes off the session price, and complete a short consultation form online before the first visit. Returning patients pay at each appointment by cash or card.
